Ter Hoeven Design are two partners with an educational background in design and fine art (Royal College of Art London).
We have designed and renovated homes in continental Europe and the UK and enjoy juxtaposing features from a range of local practices.
We primarily work within the Transitional Style, which allows us to apply the best ideas of the past to a contemporary context. Our furniture line shares this approach.
Our team's craft skills help us create a balance between the historical and the new, bridging epochs through bespoke insertions into existing interiors and, in furniture, by combining contemporary shapes with traditional detailing.
Having recently set up our business in the UK, we now present our latest carved wooden chair, the Trellis One, as the flagship piece of our furniture line.

Trellis One
This chair is a contemporary re-imagining of an 18th-century predecessor and is dedicated to the design achievements of past furniture makers.
The historical Rococo chair which inspired our designer Bernard Ter Hoeven, was built in Germany by Johann Michael Bauer in the second half of the 18th century.
Born in the Netherlands, and living and working in different countries, Bernard holds Master’s degree from the Royal College of Art in London and loves to combine ideas and materials reflective of different periods, countries and styles.
